Home Made Clay for Toddlers
In this pandemic situation, with limited resources to play at home, we all keep thinking new ideas to make our kids busy. Kids generally get bored very quickly playing with one toy and they need another one. My daughter demanded clay continuously for few days and I was unable to go out to buy the same. I came up with this homemade clay idea and it worked wonders for me.
Preparation Time – Only 7 minutes
Ingredients – 2 cups of All purpose flour (Maida), 1 cup of water (normal temperature) , 1 cup of salt, 1tbsp vegetable oil, food coloring to give bright color to the clay ( if available) or any water color.
How to Make –
1. Keep a zip pouch or a plastic bag ready.
2. Mix all the above mentioned ingredients and fill them in the pouch or you can mix it with spoon and knead it yourself as regular dough.
3. If you use a pouch, ask your kid to help you knead it together inside the pouch.
4. After few kneads; see if you need to add a little more food color or the water color
5. Check the final outcome and if required add water to have the desired consistency.
6. Your Clay is ready.
- Use an airtight container to avoid hardening of the clay.
- It’s long lasting and you won’t need to make it for at least 10 days.
This is extremely safe and with minimal effort, your kid is happy playing with the clay.
We all will agree, that when clay moulds into desired shapes, the feeling of content on your child’s face is beyond measures. Clay keeps her busy and she can play by herself!
